RULES

This league has 14 teams, and will have 30 players on each roster. Each year, we'll have 25 keepers, for three consecutive years, until the 4th year, where it'll drop to 12 keepers. The cycle will start again, where we'll have three consecutive years of 25 keeps. We are in our 7th season.
SETTINGS
Each year, there will be a 5 round draft. For those unfamiliar with a rotisserie leauge or 'roto', scoring is accumulated throughout the season. For each category, you'll be rewarded a maximum amount of points, varying by the number of teams in your league.
For example, in a 14 team league, the team that leads the league in goals scored will score 14 points, the team in 2nd scores 13, and so on. The team that accumulates the most points wins.

Each team has 4 moves a week, which will be reset at the end of the week.

Every 4th year, we'll do a 'mini-redraft', where your keepers go down to 12. In that year, there will be a 18 round draft.

4 C, 4 LW, 4 RW, 6 D, 3 Util, 2 G, 3 IR+, 2 NA

Forward/Defenseman Categories:
Goals (G), Assists (A), Points (P), Plus/Minus (+/-), Powerplay Points (PPP), Faceoff Won (FW), Hits (Hit), Block (BLK)

Goalie Categories:
Wins (W), Goals Against Average (GAA), Save % (SV%), Shutouts (SHO)
FARM TEAM

This league features a roster position, 'NA'. This is our version of a farm system. The two slots available are only available for players that are NHL rookies: players that have played in 25 or less NHL games, provided they are in the Yahoo system.

You are not required to use these slots if you so choose, but it is an advantage, since farm team players are exempt from the draft and do not have to be protected as a part of your keepers. These players should be considered a part of your no-draft lists, and should you pick them during the draft, you will forfeit that pick.

TANKING
Tanking for a better draft position by way of benching players is not allowed. In order to prevent this from occurring, there are games played minimums.

For Skaters, under an 82 game season:
1500 Games Played

For Goalies, under an 82 game season:
80 Games Played

If these minimums are not met, I will talk to the manager(s) involved. If their response is not satisfactory or if there is enough evidence that there has been a concerted effort to undermine the league rules, they will have their 1st round draft pick taken away.
TRADING
the most fun you can have with your pants on.
Trades and the valuations of players are always subjective. My personal belief is that most, if not all trades should go through, with the understanding that managers are held accountable to their own teams. I also believe that leagues with veto trade systems are flawed, with personal agendas influencing how the league is run.

Therefore, trades in this league is a commissioner's review, however if you have any concerns regarding any trades, please feel free to voice them. If you wish to stay anonymous, you can always send me an email. I will then open the trade up for review in the discussion boards.
​
All trades will be in pending for approximately a day, starting this year. If in this period, there are no concerns of collusion or fair play, I will allow the trade to be processed.
FAAB WAIVERS
wafers are a trash cookie, and nothing will convince me otherwise
FAAB stands for free agency acquisition budget. Each team gets an imaginary amount of dollars to use for the entire season. Each team will get $100 to spend on players that are on waivers, with the waiver clear being two days.

While FAAB waivers isn't overly complicated at the moment, since non-waiver players are simply free agents and can be picked up at any time, some rule changes may be incoming in the future, to utilize FAAB waivers as a strategic-based play.

It's also notable that some collegiate players will turn pro and sign with their teams, where they will be added into the Yahoo system. It is a strategy to save your FAAB budget to add one of these prospects near the end of the season.

So if you were around last year, and tolerated me enough to return again this year, what the hell is wrong with you? If you're new this year, I am a normal adult man that does normal adult things. But ask no follow-up questions.

At the end of the day, this fantasy hockey stuff should be fun and a way to blow off steam. I think we do this stuff because we're all competitive in our own little way and because we love the game of hockey so much. That being said, the bare minimum expectation is to be an active manager/poolie. If that's not something you can do, then you're also ruining it for the rest of us.
